The Milwaukee 9072-22 is the bigger brother to the 9070-20. It boasts most of the features of the 20 but with added durability and reliability that is achieved from a slightly redesigned mechanism that delivers a greater operating torque range and smoother operation thus creating less wear and tear in the internal mechanisms of the toolIt is a 1/2 inch square drive impact wrench and includes a set of six socket and a convenient carrying case to keep the tool secure. The 7.0 Amp motor is powerful enough to deliver a head speed of 1,800 RPM. It hits the scales at a weight of just 6.0 lbs whilst delivering 300 foot-pounds of torque which gives this wrench an excellent weight-to-power ratio. This model features a QUIK-LOK® cord and pin-detent system to securely retain sockets or adapters. The ergonomically shaped handle and soft cushioned grip create a well-balanced and controllable feel.

The Consensus on Milwaukee’s big brother

The jury is out on the Milwaukee 9070-22. It claims to be a better all round product than the 9070-20 which makes us ask why Milwaukee would enter two products that are so similar into the same market. All that we can find as being different between the two is a slightly altered drive system and a more durable casing. Milwaukee are certain that this is worth a $40 difference in price between the two tools but we are not convinced.

The advice from Trusted Tool Advisor is to spend the extra 15% and purchase the DeWalt DW-292K model which is a better branded name and has better features.
